Well the old snowblower finally gave up. Bill decided to replace the motor with a Honda engine. Honda makes a direct replacement for the 5  hp. Briggs and Stratton engine. We did the switch on the log splitter several years ago and it worked great. The problem with the snowblower is the engine is so old it is quite different. The base is a different size so the bolt pattern is different. The drive shaft is an inch higher and the shaft diameter is larger than the Honda replacement. See the necessary modifications in the photo.
