    Scarlett wishes everyone a happy St. Paddy’s day. Here in Red Lake we actually had a little melting. Not much but the highways are bare. The good news is starting April 1/22 vaccinated travelers can enter Canada without showing a negative test.

    Not much to report from Red Lake. The temperature still drops well below zero at night and warms up during the day. We got another four inches of snow last night. We have more snow than we have had in the past 30 years.

    Extremely cold this morning. Our old thermometer exaggerates a little bit but is is for sure 35 below Fahrenheit. It would be nice to hope for warmer weather but that would mean more snow.

    We had an interesting thing happen in our driveway. People have reported two lynx in the neighborhood and we got to see them both today. They actually walked along the edge of our deck and down the sidewalk before climbing the bank and returning to the bush.

    After much back and forth freeze then thaw our bay has finally frozen over for the last time.  No getting around it winter is really here.
