September turned out to be a very busy time for us. First, we had to shut down all of the outposts and the main camp plus pick rice, we ended up with just over 9,500 pound of rice.

Early September at Goose Lake, the wild rice harvest is in full swing. Nearly 4,000 pounds picked as of September 1.

The water levels at Goose Lake are about normal and the wild rice is looking good. We hope to start picking by late August and finish in late September.

Jim’s glory was short lived. Ed Husting caught this 31 inch walleye second cast below Whitedog Falls.

May 17, we are back from visiting family in Massachusetts and ready to work. The weather is fantastic and Bill got a sunburn working at Goose Lake today. The water level is very low.

The rains ended in early September and the weather was great for September, October, and November. We cut firewood for next year and closed up camp by September 27.

By August 12, the water at Goose Lake peaked. Yes, the entire barrier around the end of the fixed dock is under water.
