    We are ready for guests this weekend. The portage at Whitedog Falls had some trees down but nothing like the portages at Monroe and Unnamed.

    The reef markers are in thanks to Jack G who sent me a replacement transducer for my Hummingbird 4000. The Hummingbird combined with the GPS (I marked the positions last fall) make locating reefs a snap.

    After a couple of days of windy weather we finished up at Monroe and Unnamed and flew to Goose Lake. Only a few trees down but no other surprises. Our machinery all started without glitches and we are up and running. The wood stove is merrily snapping and we are happy to be back…

    We flew to Monroe Lake and spent all afternoon cutting out the portages to West and U Lakes.  On our return to town, Howey Bay was almost completely free of ice so we are now flying from our own dock.

    On the way back to town, we landed at Monroe Lake which was almost ice free. We still have to go back to Unnamed to finish clearing the portage. We are not looking forward to the two portages at Monroe.

    We flew to Monroe Lake this morning but it still had ice so we continued on to Unnamed Lake. After clearing the downed trees at the cabin we spent hours cutting and clearing the blown down trees on the portage.
