The annual photo of our bay.

We have had enough cold weather so the ice roads throughout the north are in full swing.  Photo is our vehicle on the ice in front of the Superior water base. The ice here would be about three feet thick. 

Up to now we have had a very warm winter. Today, we are back to the normal 20 below. The good news is we have sunshine, which is great news for our neighbors who rely on solar panels for electricity. We have had nothing but heavy clouds for weeks.

Welcome to what we hope will be a great year. No travel restrictions, no vaccine requirements. Scarlett is now a little over one year old.

Frank and Sarah sent this photo of evening fishing from this past summer where the water flows out of Monroe Lake.  

Ryan, Eliza, and Scarlett made a visit to Red Lake. When you call or email, Ryan will answer your questions and handle your booking. Scarlett has been walking since mid October.

We drove to Minneapolis to catch a flight to Boston to visit family. It has been several years since we drove this route and we were pleasantly surprised. Highway 105 and 502 were in great shape. Highway 53 south from International Falls is also in great shape and the twin highway now…

The weather has been perfect for early October. Hardly any wind. We had to get some additional fill for the town dock. The high water this spring eroded our shoreline.

We finished up closing camp and flew to town in the late afternoon.

It is now official.  fter October 1/22 travelers will no longer need to be vaccinated to enter Canada. The Arrive Can app will not be compulsory and no testing of any kind will be required. We look forward to seeing you all in 2023.
