May 17, we are back from visiting family in Massachusetts and ready to work. The weather is fantastic and Bill got a sunburn working at Goose Lake today. The water level is very low.

It is so nice having a home in the bush. The local male partridge has been drumming at regular intervals every day. Louise took this picture of his display in our driveway.

We walked the portages for Monroe and Unnamed cutting out the winter dead falls. All portages are in good shape. The low water levels necessitated paddling the last 100 feet into the portage at Unnamed Lake.

April 27, we went to Monroe Lake. Bill had been planning to fix the ramp and the dock as soon as we had lower water levels. After a two-year delay, we finally have the lower levels.

April 18, the weather is very warm and the ice is almost all gone. A new record early ice out for 2010.

We took this picture of Howey Bay on Monday March 22, the snow is gone. On Wednesday we received a couple of inches of snow and the temperature dropped to 10 below. It should warm up by Monday.

Howey Bay froze over on December 4. Early December weather was very cold with little snow so the ice is off to a great start.

The rains ended in early September and the weather was great for September, October, and November. We cut firewood for next year and closed up camp by September 27.
