It is time to get the airplane off the ice. The wind was strong yesterday, so this morning we added fuel and took off from the ice and landed in the river. Our first guests arrive May 23, so we should be fine with ice out.

We are back in Red Lake and the snow has started melting. Our aircraft is ready to go as the overhauled engine has been installed. Now, we wait.

The start of another year. Already we have had 30 consecutive days of below zero temperatures. When the temperature does warm up it snows. The old snow blower is getting regular workouts. We celebrated Christmas in Massachusetts with family (we had serious snow) We did luck out on the bad airline travel…

The Whiskey Jacks finally arrived (about a month later than usual). The adults still remember to take food from our hands but the young (only one this year) is still too shy. Camp shut down is progressing well and we should be home in a couple of days. We still have…

Scott and Duke, our last guests are in camp. Louise and Bill are getting things ready for winter. At Poirier Lake and the other outposts that means carrying firewood.

Paul N. who has fished Unnamed Lake every third year in late August for the past 30 years, brought a group this year that managed to land a 42 inch northern and a 28 inch walleye.

Goose Lake has a full camp, warm weather and fantastic fishing. What more could we ask for? The biggest walleye was 27 inches until Bryon J. arrived late on Saturday and landed a 29 inch walleye. Then on Sunday, we saw 25, 27, and 29 inch walleye.

The great walleye fishing at Unnamed Lake continues. The Kelleys caught 20 walleye over 21 inches. The largest were a pair of 26 inchers.

Ron and Kathy are at Poirier. They ventured out in the rain today for four hours and caught walleye at 24 to 27 feet; 2–23 inch; 1–25.5 inch; 1–26 inch; and 2–27.5 inch. They use a mixture of live minnows and frozen shiners. This year they tied in the big walleye competition…
