We are in the middle of winter here at Red Lake. We still have great fishing weeks available. Please don’t wait too long. We have already had to disappoint fishermen with weeks that are full. Frank W sent this symbol of a fond memory from the past. This was actually 17 years ago.

Our bay finally froze over for the last time during the night. Very cold weather is forecast so it should stay frozen this time.

A week of Moose hunting, but the weather was much too warm. The hunters, Barry and Mike spent many hours along with Ryan and Bill calling for Moose. The moose simply were not there–a stark contrast to the preceding two years.

We spent the week getting the outposts shut down. Monroe still has guests so it will have to wait. The last group of fishermen left Goose Lake on September 14 (one day later than planned due to weather).

Yes, we are still here and the fishing is still hot even though the weather has cooled to the mid-50s. Check out this 26 inch walleye caught at the north end of Nechigona Lake.

Back at Goose Lake we have a full camp this week and walleye fishing has lots of action and some big ones mixed in. For the first time this year a group ventured to the north end of Nechigona Lake and were rewarded with this 27 inch walleye.
