Louise and Bill flew to Monroe Lake yesterday to start getting ready for the first guests in a couple of weeks. Quite windy and the fires started making serious smoke. This morning we received half and inch of rain and more is expected later today.

Finally, the border will open for fishermen on August 9. You must be fully vaccinated and have proof of vaccination. You must be tested within 72 hours of arriving at the border. We have space available. Please spread the word. We are open for business after August 9.

Today, we portaged over to Nechigona Lake and hauled the boats down from winter storage (in the bush). We anchored two boats out in the channel, inverted one boat in the water near shore and pushed the ramp well out so they would not get damaged by fire.

Louise has been very busy with the weed eater. It is a STIHL FS38. (a fantastic machine). As you can see she has cleared a spot in front where we can land a helicopter if necessary.
